Fillings to repair cavities or cracks in teeth are the most common type of dental replacement. Years ago, dentists had few choices for filling material, and a silver amalgam was the standard. Today, better materials are available. They provide the strength and durability of silver, but the color can be matched to a patient's tooth color.
Look in the mirror and smile big. If you see silver from old fillings, you might want to have those old fillings removed and replaced with new tooth-colored fillings.
