There are literally hundreds of adult Arizonans who owe their beautiful straight smiles to the childhood years they spent wearing braces fitted by Westwood Dental Center. Some of our earliest young patients are in their thirties now. They didn't like us much back in the early days, but now a surprising number of them check in with us periodically to say how thankful they are for the results. Many of them living in the East Valley are still our patients — as are their children.
Orthodontic (teeth straightening) technology has advanced tremendously since Dr. Arnce installed his first set of braces on a young patient years ago. Newer braces are far less conspicuous than the gleaming stainless steel units of the past.
That's not all that's changed. The old myth that you can't straighten teeth after childhood has been dispelled. We routinely do orthodontic work to align the smiles of older patients. Minor imperfections at age 20 can deteriorate into embarrassingly crooked teeth by age 40.
